In order to achieve this, we need to work closely with our producers, getting to know them and making them part of our ever growing family.

At Cask we are fortunate enough to work with some of the world’s most creative and innovative producers. Most days we pinch ourselves because working with our customers really feels like we are living the dream. It is a humbling experience to work with the many great friends we have made across the globe and we are proud to bring them and their fine brands into the Norwegian market.
The Captain that steers the ship at Cask Norway is none other than Mr Markus Amarloui. Markus joined Cask after a distinguished career within the Norwegian monopoly system where he rose to the position of buyer, having begun his career with them in 1999. Having completed his Sommelier training with the monopoly, he has one of the sharpest wine noses in the house
Our irrepressible Northern Viking, Idar started in the trade as a dishwasher at the age of 15. This carried over to an 18-year career working his way through pubs, restaurants and cocktail bars. In 2004 he took on the ambassadorial role for Glenmorangie, Hennessey and Ardbeg and has been making waves in the industry ever since. Renown for his drive and passion, Idar is the driving force in the Cask sales team.
Grant is the king of beards at Casa de la Cask. Our resident Australian can shave in the morning and be fully bearded by lunchtime! An on trade veteran, Grant has managed and run cocktail bars across the UK and Norway and having joined Cask in 2013 as a beer technician, he has made his mark in the company as the go-to guy for installing beer lines across the country. Ten line install? Boom! Grant is your man.
The Grand Duke of Grünerløkka! Bernard is beer and bar royalty in this part of the world. A worthy winner of Cask Person of the Year, Bernard first cut his teeth in the trade working in some of Oslo’s most renowned beer and cocktail bars. Sporting a divine red beard and speaking eloquently on all things hops and malt, many have fallen for Bernard’s wily charms.
Proudly fighting the Cask fashion of beard wearing. Janne came to us from the restaurant world having recently completed her studies for Marketing Management at Handelshøyskolen BI and brings a fresh new perspective to all things Cask. Her driving passion is working with people, fine products and bearded silly men!
Aylin entered the trade from the real world. Yes. That scary place many of us visit on family holidays! With a Marketing / Economics degree from BI Oslo, Aylin had forged a distinguished career in the retail sector before she was lured to Cask in 2014. Brand manager by day and home brewer by night, Aylin brings an enthusiasm and passion for our producers that typifies the Cask spirit.
Brand manager extraordinaire, Camilla has been dazzling us all with her mad skills since she joined Cask in 2015. A monopoly veteran, Camilla climbed to the lofty heights of purchaser before making a break for the brand management side of the business. Our 70s edition Oslo-born and country-raised gal is dearly loved and highly respected by all.
We will let Christian tell his story in his own words…
1: My booze background: I started working in restaurants in 1994 after borrowing money from my mother to by a guitar (since my initial plan was to become a rock star). The restaurant had a fantastic wine cellar and a sorry excuse for a spirit shelf. I then started exploring the wonders of ethanol…
Long story short: I started for an international spirit company back in 2006 and began working for Cask Norway AS in 2012. Since they still haven’t fired me, I’m still here.
2: Passion in the industry: Too much time is spent on snobbery, when the sheer astonishment of exploring taste, smell and colour is a never-ending wonder. A business that is built up on drunken monks and jolly pirates, what’s not to love?
